Health and Social Care gives me fire in my belly to give back to those who gave for us!
I strive to provide a quality service within social care to people who live in the community. Especially to those who want to stay in their own home and feel safe and secure.
I started working in childcare at first, I have worked in a nursery and then progressed onto work in a primary school as a special need’s educational assistant. I then decided I wanted a career change and thought id give adult social care a try! I started at Mears Care as a care assistant and then moved over to CRG Homecare to become a Field Care Supervisor. This was my favourite role as I felt like I was right out there with all the service users completing reviews and making sure they were happy and getting the care they deserve. I then progressed onto being a co-ordinator for a TUPE transfer we had as it was a large number of hours. After that I wanted a change, and moved into a Quality Assurance role as an auditor, which involved travelling the country to their different branches, providing audits of the branches and creating action plans so that we could maintain and strengthen our ‘Good’ rated branches. My main achievement was getting a branch rated ‘Required Improvement’ with a number of breaches to a 5 Green standard in all Key Lines Of Enquiry. I then moved on within the company to be an Interim Branch Manager for one of my local branches. I developed a lot of good relationships with all teams and staff but decided I wanted to go back into Compliance and Quality.
In August 2020, the opportunity came within Home Care Assist solely for Compliance and Recruitment, which is what I love the most. I now deal with all new recruits coming through and ensuring that the branch remains compliant at all times with both care workers and service users. The team that I work with share the same vision and what the best for our clients. I have never worked with Palliative Care before so it has been a big eye opener for me in the terms of what other services and support is out there for domiciliary care companies and love that we are valued and treated equally rather than a whole.
