After several years working as a teaching assistant, I made a career change into the care sector and quickly discovered a genuine passion for supporting others.
I joined Home Care Assist as a Care Supervisor in 2023, where I developed my skills across both frontline care and service oversight. In this role, I carried out care worker spot checks and competency assessments to ensure staff were confident, skilled, and consistently delivering high standards of care. I also completed regular audits and service reviews, helping to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement across the service. Alongside this, I provided hands-on support to both clients and care staff, ensuring care delivery remained safe, responsive, and person-centred.

Following my time as a Care Supervisor, I was promoted into my current role as Compliance and Recruitment Officer. In this position, I am responsible for ensuring we meet all regulatory and internal standards, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting the overall compliance framework within the organisation. I also lead on recruitment, managing the end-to-end process of attracting, selecting, and onboarding new care staff. A key part of my role is ensuring we recruit individuals who not only meet the required standards, but who also share our values and commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

My role brings together compliance, recruitment, and service quality, and I take pride in supporting both the growth of our team and the safety and wellbeing of the people we care for.
